The top and normal diff are best suited for this client imho, the easy and hard seems fine, sytho's insane looks way too modern though.
We could definitely fix the storyboard

i'd suggest probably unrank sytho diff but idk how it affects the whole mapset

I mean sytho's diff is not unrankable but it's not really old style in any way personally

Ady's new osb fixes the incompatibility issues with titanic. Unfortunately some of the text doesn't appear on older clients, this isn't a mistake on -Ady's part, but clearly some of the text uses storyboard functions that either don't work on old osu! or just work differently. I am okay with using -Ady's storyboard as it is right now, as trying to recreate the storyboard effects again ourselves using the older techniques sounds like way too much hassle for a Map Request.

In order to rank the map with the modified .osb we will need to upload it through Titanic's BSS. Since we are doing that we could choose to not rank Sytho's Insane. In my opinion we should leave the map in and keep it ranked. Someone could see that this map is ranked here on Titanic and be looking specifically for this diff and be disappointed that it's not there.

I think this opens up a much larger discussion as to what is the vibe of maps here on Titanic. Is the goal to only have older style maps (up to the latest client added at the time)? If that's the case should we be unranking or discouraging older style maps? It's a bit of a tough question that I think we will need to decide together as a community. What do players and mappers here want? So far we have not imposed any sort of mapping style on Titanic mappers, but for Map Requests we have discouraged or denied newer style maps historically.

Also we should change the Perfect Curve Sliders to Beziers if we are going to send it through BSS, at least the ones that are likely to cause issues. Here's the sliders I noticed that would need to be changed.

In my perspective, it solely depends on which the target audience goes to. As I said, I wouldn't mind getting the Sytho diff unrank or loved as historically, the map is modernized as for the rest of the diffs such as top is mapped on a grid-style / old mapping style. However, there are other mappers like Bloxi who still maps and ranks grid-style mapping to this day (i hope).

But the question relies on the other BATs / players who plays in these clients where there is no pp farm abuse, just score farming and hard mechanics to some at least. Do players / BATs don't mind getting some modern maps be ranked here or should only be stay on bancho and find unranked / ranked maps that only comes between 2014-2015?

I don't really have the final say but it all comes down to you guys.

I don't mind it personally for just this set, I don't think Sytho's diff is too out of place. But if we were to make a decision on all future maps, I definitely wouldn't complain if the 1-2 spam and newer avalon/sliderpilled style maps weren't ranked here even in 2034. I'm an old man yelling at clouds tho…

I'll say this, there's a reason the 2014-2015 guideline was initially put into place. But I didn't think this server is where people went to regress their outlook on mapping by 10 years as well. Old is when grid, or whatever.

well, if there's demand for it, seeing some modern maps wouldn't hurt to see, we've ranked a bunch of them before, guess it just depends on the BAT member you ask if they're willing to rank the maps or not

if another BAT expresses that they wanna rank sytho's diff as well, i'll be up for that too, tho for now, i'll stick with keeping it loved (unranking it would be stupid tbh) while the rest of the set is ranked
