The concept is in editing beatmap submission date on beatmap page or by submitting it with incorrect time on pc (which will lead to automatically determined date on beatmap page). Allowed beatmap submission date should be in range between first ever ranked map that is "DISCO PRINCE" by peppy (2007.10.06) and current. Also specify ranking criteria rule (if it's applicable) to not set submission date until year when beatmap mapping style was commonly used by most of mappers, e. g.: we have never used cool slidershapes and uncommon object rotation until these features implementation, so date should be in range between object rotation implementation and current.

i see the vision if you could just set the year and have it also apply to the ranked date, could help to represent what year a map is supposed to be (like a 2007 map having its year set to 2007 or whatever)

but im not a dev and i dont know how id implement that so meh

how useful is that gonna be?

this only gonna be "immersive" to the people that are already in on the insight joke and any onlookers and new players will just wonder whats even going on and even if they understand why its done will be confused because a date is supposed to be ACCURATE :3

it made sense to me because i remember a youtube revival doing that (didnt let you choose the year but its close enough ;w;)

i see, i mean the idea isnt terrible its just probably not fitted that well for a public private server (public and private in the same sentence is weird lol)
