It's truly just preference. I recommend trying some different clients from different eras! There are also some cool modded clients :D

2010-2015 seems to be the most reliable when it comes to playing especially on modern devices, but don't be afraid to try 2007-2009 clients :D

It's like 90% preference. Older clients might have some issues playing newer maps or opening newer skins. I prefer 2008-2012 clients personally. b20121223 and newer will have (almost) zero issues playing modern maps. Feel free to try older clients too, you are not tied or forced to use a specific client forever and you can switch clients anytime you want. Feel free to also check out the modded clients section.

Titanic Exclusive beatmaps are designed to be almost 100% compatible with clients down to 2009.
