i'm sorry, time for a veto

the same way avril's set of "time to say goodbye" was abusive for the pp system with aim patterns, this mapset is abusive for the pp system with speed patterns. i won't allow this in ranked until the [Master] difficulty gets a major rework (reduced spacing of the more spaced stream patterns, especially in the kiai) or the removal of the difficulty. once that's done, we can bring this set back into qualified

i would also point out the lower difficulties being messily put together (with messy overlaps in many different places) and needing further mods, but they aren't unrankable so it's not something i won't go further into detail with. up to you if you wanna get more mods on them

my 2c


this is mainly my criticism regarding the [Master] difficulty. i cba to mod the lower diffs because this ones bad imo

Notable Things
1. the contrast between the streams and "the breaks"/quiet parts are weird;
00:23:435 - 00:25:150 - why is this mapped like a hard diff? also shouldn't the burst/stream start @ 00:25:150 ?
-> map this more actively via short bursts or reverses or even active 1/2 rhythm instead of those rather random 1/1 breaks

same for these sections that have similar issues; mainly being way to easy for what is the topdiff of this set:
00:28:921 - 00:30:635, 00:34:407 - 00:35:607, 00:37:150 - 00:41:607, 01:01:835 - 01:05:950

my solution would be either to map it actively with jumps.. or better include low-spaced streams/bursts to compensate for both the difficulty and what the song has to offer (basically more fitting 1/4's)

2. spacing on some streams are very random at times (mainly the kiai) which causes very bad difficulty balancing throughout
first things first, u sorta go away from ur ascending/descending stream-thing that u did here: 00:14:778 (4,5,6,7,8), 00:19:664 (5,6,7,8,1), 00:20:350 (5,6,7,8,1) and even at the beginning of the kiai! 00:46:407 (7,8,9,10,1)
where i think patterns in this kiai would benefit from this "gimmick" alone, such as 00:49:835 (5,6,7,8), 00:51:207 (5,6,7,8) etc.

secondly, spacing compared to the pitch of the piano is inconsistent at times;
00:50:178 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - why is this spacing so low, when u do this spacing 00:51:550 (1,2,3,4,5) at basically the same pitch?

00:49:493 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - why is this spacing as high as 00:48:121 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15) when its clear that the pitch goes lower?
same thing would go for 00:50:864 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) aswell

then u have this 00:51:893 (5,6,7,8) followed by 00:52:235 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16) where i think 1-16 should have higher or even the same spacing because of the pitch alone
and combined with the ascending/descending spacing u did earlier, you could then buff spacing patterns like 00:52:921 (9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16) etc.
same goes for 00:53:607 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15)

00:54:978 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - also this, why is 00:54:978 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) higher spacing than the stream before AND the same spacing as 00:55:664 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) when the pitch is getting higher?
same would go for this 00:56:350 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8), the last spaced burstpattern does make sense

also 01:00:464 - 01:05:950 should have more spacing in its stream/burst patterns, why is the spacing/intensity even lower than in the intro?
same goes for the entire outro, this should have more spacing because what you're basically doing is mapping the outro even easier than the intro which fucks with ur diff balancing and progression at the same time IMO
like; 01:09:035 (1,2,3,4,5,6,1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - this is NOT a 6* u would see this in mid 4*s
01:12:121 (2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14) - ascending spacing? more spacing because of pitch? hellooo

also what the hell is this man 01:08:007 (1,2,3,4,5,6)

small things
00:16:235 (7) - this is so ugly, rotate 85 degress anti-clockwise via selection centre
00:18:978 (5,6,7,8) - where is the acceleration like in 00:19:664 (5,6,7,8) etc.
00:30:293 (5) - uglyyyy overlap with both 00:29:950 (3) and the whole pattern overall
01:08:007 (1,2,3,4,5,6) - as mentioned before, what is this go more ham with the jumps

tl;dr difficulty progression is very inconsistent, mainly because of rhythm choices & irregular spacing at times (which might have its reasons lol)

i mean, i wouldn’t wanna map anymore either if i got my map insta dqed and told what i was doing was abusive with little explanation why or reason i should agree… and i don’t blame cloudpaw at all if it doesn’t wanna touch this again
maybe im reading into it too much but considering everything and how this is a tiny server of people that shouldn’t be as divisive as the regular mapping community, id find this quite unfriendly and hostile no matter how justified it may be to some :<

i won't repost what i said about this on Discord but the veto doesn't have formal weight so i'm just going to go for renom and then pray for a BAT restructure because this was unserious
