hello! this sure is long

here's some mods from techincal stuff you should fix before we get to actually modding the maps

General

  • there's many perfect curve sliders and due to compatibility with older clients, they need to be converted, so using digital client, select all objects, then go to Compose -> Perfect Curve Converter and after a minute or two, all sliders should be converted to a bezier slider
  • difficulty settings for all difficulties need to be round numbers, so changed the AR to 9 and OD to 8, and on the [Marathon] difficulty, change the HP to 2
  • there's plenty of unsnapped objects across the marathon, but you can resnap all objects on digital client by holding CTRL and moving the slidertail on the timeline
  • the video file you use for one of the songs is an mp4 file, which is not compatible with almost any client and it needs to be an avi, so on digital client, go to Design -> Media Reencoder, and reencode the video as an xvid avi

    i think that's gonna fix most of the technical stuff, don't forget to apply this to all difficulties!

    okay, now it's time for the real mod where i look at each of the songs (part 1)

    Suite-Pee

  • the intro of this map standalone is missing in the marathon difficulty, any reason for that?

  • 00:20:462 (1,2,3,4,1,2,1) - would suggest you flip all of these hoirzontally so the distance between 00:21:570 (1,1) - isn't an awkward pause (i know similar pauses appear in other parts of the map, but this one felt much more awkward than the others)

  • 00:34:995 (1,2,1,2,1,2) - here i would reverse the order of jumps like this:

    that way, you get more satisfying jumps 00:35:772 (2,1,2) - here, and later applying the same here 00:36:422 (1,1,2,1,2) - then 00:36:422 (1) - will be stacked below 00:36:097 (2) - which makes gameplay feel better

  • 01:13:200 (4) - would move this on top of 01:13:616 (1) - i think it looks nicer and plays a little better as it becomes a square pattern

    Know

  • 03:14:278 (6) - not a fan of this circle, it stops a player in the middle of a burst and then expects them to move very quickly to 03:14:379 (1) - which feels really awkward, so i'd remove the circle

  • 05:01:420 (6,7,8,9,10) - and 05:02:951 (3,4,5,6,7) - are the same patterns but aren't used in the same way? i feel like 05:01:420 (6,7,8,9,10) - is off by 1/4 and is now following the vocals properly, so you should move that pattern in the timeline so they match

    Sugar

  • 06:16:644 (2) - missnaped circle, should be on 06:16:663 - i believe

  • 07:55:778 (7) - would potentially move this to x:176 y:240 to continue the movement of 07:55:471 (5,6) - these sliders, and then move 07:55:946 (8) - somewhere else (maybe stacked below 07:55:624 (6) - sliderhead)

    Suggestions

  • 08:35:062 (1,2,3,1,2,3) - would reverse the order of these, first the big triangle, than the small one to better reflect the timing change as the slower timing should apply for the smaller triangle

  • 08:37:300 (5) - 08:38:301 (4) - small preference thing, but move these so they perfectly overlap the 08:36:112 (4) - slider end and so they're nicely blanketed by 08:36:449 (1) - this slider. afterwards, make it so 08:36:969 (2,3,4) - and 08:38:301 (4) - are horizontal flips of the previously mentioned circles

  • 09:43:028 (4,5) - would move these a couple grid spaces lower to avoid overlap between the slidetails of 09:42:699 (3) - and 09:43:370 (5) -

  • 09:51:736 (1,2) - would seperate these a little more from eachother, like this if we compare it to 09:52:706 (4) -


  • 10:03:887 (3,4,5) - incorrect stacking, fix that

  • 10:12:488 (1) - would move this more to the left so the sliderend perfectly overlaps with 10:13:340 (5) -

  • in general, this difficulty has a lot of imperfections in terms of overlaps (a lot of them feel slopply put together), don't know if it's intentional, but it clashes with the rest of the mappers styles



    alright, that's part 1/3, more mods comming tomorrow hopefully!

    Hi! I am the one who did the mapping for Suggestions.


    Sorry for the sloppy feeling, this was probably one of my first full standard maps I have ever done.

    Tried to fix everything, have fun with War, idk if its much better…
