can you say what do you have on refreshrate string in your userconfig (osu!.yourname.cfg)? i have a thoughts that it's the issue of this error

any uhm >_< fullscreen letterboxed support adders that exist like in the b20150514.8cuttingedge client? I feel as if it is different than the current day letterboxing thx..

I can't use the 2015 implementation because it's OpenGL only, and trying to get letterboxing in DirectX9 looks like hell, so not right now.

if ur on windows you can achieve letterboxing through the nvidia/amd scaling settings, on linux there are various hacky ways depending on distro

i have an interesting suggestion

what if you will add something like osu trainer into the client? to speed up maps to practice them with comfortable speed (they must be new difficulties)

Digital Client update time! This is another big release so we are moving up to 5.2.0!

2015 Song Select Beatmap Carousel
This is something I have wanted to do for one and a half years, but only recently did Digital Client implement enough of the engine changes from later client versions to make this possible!



In the past we had what I liked to call "Modern Song Select at Home". It looked more like modern song select, but it sure didn't work like it! Now we truly have modern song select, in terms of performance, speed, sorting capabilities, all while retaining all the previous custom features Digital Client offered in Song Select! This was a pretty massive rewrite, but ultimately I can't take all the credit for what is ultimately getting peppy tom94's improvements backports, but it sure took a lot of engine upgrades to get it working!



You can now search within grouping and sorting of all types! No more giving up all sorting and grouping when typing anything!



New custom grouping and sorting! You can now search and group by pp and max combo! You can also search by these as well. I also backported searching by keys. technically this did exist previously but I was accidentally using the legacy terms for that search, not the modern ones from stable. Now you can do both.

pp Grouping is by 50pp increments till 2,000pp, and combo goes by 100 till 10,000.



Search terms:

"k"
"kc"
"key"
"keys"
for key searching

"pp"
for pp searching

"combo"
"maxcombo"
"mc"
for max combo searching


Digital Client is not ready for searching by max score, I attempted it, but we would need to make major changes, so max combo will be your best bet for now.

As for the beatmap cards themselves, there are two new options for them in this release.



Force thumbnail position is enabled by default, and matches earlier versions of how Digital Client looked. With this option enabled the game will not slide the text over to the left if a map does not have a thumbnail. In my opinion having the text move around depending on if it has a thumbnail is annoying, but if you want it to look like stable disable this.





Dim text on unselected difficulties is disabled by default, and matches earlier versions of how Digital Client looked. By default in modern clients the game dims the text of any unselected difficulty in a set, except for the difficulty name, which imo looks really stupid. However if you want it to match Stable, enable this option.



Beatmap Card fixes for the old default skin
The old menu-button-background is sized and spaced quite differently than the modern one, and under normal circumstances would look really bad in the modern song select format. I have attempted to work around this by checking to see if you are loading the classic default asset and adjusting where things like the thumbnail and text go if you are using this asset. It's not perfect yet, but it does look quite a lot better than if you just load the classic default skin on stable and force it to the modern skin version!

Remember that you can set the Song Select theme you want in the Theme Tab of Options!
So if you want Song Select to look more like the older versions of the game you still can, however it will be slightly different than previous Digital Client versions since it's more in line with modern legacy song select when it comes to the beatmap cards!

Hold the background in Song Select to see the background (improved)
This feature existed previously, but was an instant effect and people kept asking if it was a bug. NO it was not a bug, it just lacked a proper animation due to how song select used to work. Now it looks much better. This is a recreation of a feature from lazer.



Date Added goes back to 12 months now
I always thought 5 months was a weird cut off, now it's 12.



Song Select no longer reloads when changing modes!
Thanks to all the song select backports this is finally possible! I always hated the reload when changing modes.

Fix Issues With Leaderboards Not Loading in Certain Situations
Now leaderboards should work correctly!

Major performance improvements for Song Select
Song Select now loads nearly instantly even if 110,000 beatmaps like it does in stable! In previous releases of Digital Client it would take roughly 5 seconds to load into Song Select each time with that many maps!

New pp + Max score Summary Type
Now you can get even more information on the top left if you want!



October 2025 pp value update by Oreeeee
Now Digital Client matches Bancho/Stable pp calculation, last weekend Titanic was updated to this match October 2025 pp update as well so now is the perfect time to match! Thanks to the hard work of MaxOhn with his rosu-pp project and thanks to Oreeeee for updating our wrapper!

pp can now be viewed on the Performance tooltip in Ranking!
I made some changes on Digital Client side so that it can better display pp based on a Score. I wanted to display this value somewhere on the Ranking screen itself, but there just isn't anywhere good to do it really.



Updated input handling in Options!
Finally, there is peace on the input tab of Options…



Just like on Stable key binding is now done from a pDialog.



And so Mania key binding gets its own pDialog just like on Stable.



Per Key Style Key Binding!
Finally you can assign different keys depending on if you are playing 4k, 5k, etc.



2K, 3K, and 9K Support in Digital Client!
Finally Digital Client can play my Tap Tap Revenge converts…



New @2x 1K through 9K, and Fade In Assets by Patchouli!
Huge shoutouts to them for making these! Not only do we now have 1K, 2K, 3K, and 9K mod icons in the old default skin style, we even have @2x assets for all of them!



Removed Herobrine
Cool Cube Game is now gone from Digital Client… however do not be sad. If you still have the ClassicSharp and BetaSharp folders in your Assets folder, these buttons will show up! But I will no longer be bundling these since they were for April Fools.

Less Awful Gl Slider Renderer
This is just like the Awful Gl Slider Renderer, except without the slinky (the line segments across the slider), and has nice anti aliased smooth lines for the borders. Awful GL Slider was the legacy slider renderer made for the very first OpenGL implementations of osu!, and this new slider renderer replicates the nice parts while fixing the ugly parts!



New @2x Slider Ball Textures by Nymphia
Just look at how incredibly crisp these textures are, it feels illegal seeing it in this high quality!



Backport Catch the Beat Hyperdash, HyperdashAfterImage, and HyperFruit Color Skinning!
Finally you can change these colors to whatever freaky thing you want just like on newer clients!



Bring Back April Fools
Missing the funny features of Digital Client April Fools? Do not fret! You can now enable April Fools mode! There are actually even more April Fools features than seen in 5.1.0/5.1.0a/5.1.0b! If you are looking for a little hunt, see if you can find them all!



April Fools text!
You can now enable just the April Fools text if you want! I even ported un!stable's April Fools text too!



April Fools Cookies, and RetroGecko Anniversary Cookie!
You can select the April Fools cookies in the Cookie Selector screen from Digital Client, as well as the ones from RetroGecko's April Fools! Sorry to not crediting vyper for his osu! cookie, I had no idea he made it! The RetroGecko April Fools cookies were made by jvyden!



Custom Croatian Localization has begun!
Thanks to both kingkurboh335, and iSlodinx for working on Croatian localizations, and thanks to all the other localizers who localize new strings even without me reminding them, I really appreciate the effort! AiMod now can detect Decimal Storyboard Problems!
AiMod will now alert you if any storyboards can throw errors on older clients. Remember that decimal movement in storyboards breaks on MOST Titanic clients and is considered unrankable here!



Add filesize check for backgrounds matching Mapset Verifier
It will alert you if it's over 2.5mb since thats just absurd really.



Add Combo Colour check to AiMod matching Mapset Verifier
Basically any map made after this feature got added should have them tbh.



Fix AiMod not detecting audio bitrate problems
Sorry about that, not sure how long thats been broken for.

Make all AiMod checks Localizable, even custom ones or ones not Localizable in Stable
Localizations for all!

Storyboard Decimal Fixer!
There is a new tool in Digital Client to round all the storyboard movement values that would be incompatible in newer clients. It can be found in Design > Storyboard Decimal Fixer.

Now you have much more real estate to work with in Mr. Ladybug Painter when working on a widescreen resolution!

Mr. Ladybug Painter now has support for up to 8 layers, this should make it significantly easier to make cool drawings!

This is an example of a 512x512 single layer image in the old format versus the new one! Now sending these shouldn't be a pain in the ass.
